Even deeper gold in color. Honey, beeswax, quince and pineapple. Followed by ripe pears, apricot and more honey. A remarkable experience.

Moulin Touchais Coteaux du Layon, 1996
Savvy wine drinkers who have had the good fortune to visit this estate, owned by the same family since 1787, know the ageworthy quality of Moulin Touchais. This 1996 is very good right now but will undoubtedly be even better two or three decades from now. Coteaux du Layon is a dessert wine made from Chenin Blanc, but the high sugar is beautifully countered by the intense acidity and firm tannins of Chenin Blanc.
