Elio Sandri Barbera d'Alba Superiore, 2012

This wine is very big for a Barbera. It has clearly spent some time in new oak barriques.

Very deep and dark, purplish. Dark cherries, black currants, cloves and oak spices. Medium to full bodied (14.5%) and substantial tannin on the mid-palate and finish. High Barbera acidity keeps it lively.  A good match for lamb, duck or heavily flavored dishes.
