Famille Perrin Ventoux Rouge, 2022

I spend a lot of time thinking about what wine will drink best with the evening meal. Tonight, it's pizza, and the choice is fairly easy. This Ventoux Rouge from Famille Perrin is inexpensive, unpretentious and just as welcome before the meal and during the relaxing moments afterward.

Beautiful bright crimson. The aroma is enticing with fresh red berries and some floral tones. More of the same on the palate along with black and red currants and peppercorn-tinged strawberries. Not a simple wine but easy to drink and easy to like. I paid $5.69 at Plum Market in Ann Arbor.
